![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not sure how much of it is by design and how much just not yet fully balanced, but some of the results are quite stark. There are definitely stronger and weaker Aspect and Weapon choices to be made. Overall, my model found that the weapon aspects are not as well balanced as the Mirror, or Keepsakes, or even Heats. In doing this model, I actually had to find some of my own data and measure/time everything in the training room with Skelly, as I found some of the wiki data to be unreliable or outdated. Some of the areas modeled include: Weapon range, area of effect, movements during attack, recovery/animation cancels, forced movements, delays, combos, pre-requisites, animation speed, effects on hits (stagger, boons, bosses, armor), and damage. On the player side, while I am definitely not a top Hades player, I did clear 40 heat with two weapons so far despite my boomer limitations, so I have some feel for the mechanical side of the game as a gut check on the mathematical model results.Īll of the Hades Weapon Aspect model is math-ed out from first principles. I've also done a bit of balance design work for some experience/perspective working on the game dev side of things. As a bit of background, I am a content creator and do things like work on algorithms to evaluate and predict card values and synergies in Hearthstone (Lightforge Tier List). +15% to your effective health.Sometime in my 300+ hours of playing Hades in the past three months, I started to build out a simple Hades-specific algorithm for fun to evaluate all the fundamental mechanics in this game. It's solid and has potential but it provides no damage, lambent plume denies any use of other keepsakes so you have no control over your build, and if played normally, it's base ability does very little because you shouldn't get hit that much until the last two bosses and then just becomes effectively an Epic Different League, i.e. Cluster Rockets also carries it to a higher spot. That makes it better than a lot of other aspects, especially zag ones. Zag rail is definitely higher as even if it's a kinda useless aspect, Spread Fire makes it okay, and it's just Eris with -75% damage lol. ![]() It adds a good chunk of (base) damage, base damage being very valuable, and is at the very least better than zag spear/sword. Zag sword deserves to be lower as it's just the base sword except for cursed slash + flurry slash builds. ![]() Chiron is very easy for beginners but it just has noticeable flaws that hold it back just a bit more. Zag bow is currently the second best for high heat (after Rama) and about the same as Chiron for speed, if not a bit more consistent. I also think you over value Chiron and under value Zag bow. This looks reasonable except Zeus is 100% at least A tier and the zag aspects are all over the place. Good Hera builds can do the same in 40-50 seconds with Crush Shot. literally takes under 30, maybe 35 seconds. Beowulf does 5-6k every two seconds with Flood Shot + Mirage Shot. You saw a big number once but you probably don't have a good idea of what crazy amounts of damage or fast boss clears look like. You probably just haven't optimized builds enough but trust me Trippy Shot Hera isn't all it's made out to be. Which matters since you can supplement your damage with bow attack/hammers especially at high heat. Oh also Trippy Shot doesn't enable Boiling Blood. Hera, as it is now slower and will miss occasionally. Also Ice Wine the premier Trippy Shot upgrade gets worse than straight casting on any aspect with a delivery mechanism, e.g. Because Trippy Shot has the highest base damage of a cast maybe you were surprised by the big numbers, but doing 2.5k in one hit and then waiting 5 seconds is nothing compared to Crush Shot which first clears rooms much faster, and also does 2-2.5k every 2 seconds, with Parting Shot it'll do 3-4k. Crush/Phalanx Shot has similar base damage anyway, adds a ton of bonus % damage with Parting Shot, actually lodges, and if you get Quick Reload, drops out almost immediately. If you care about big cast damage against bosses, Achilles or Beowulf is the way to go. Other casts can be repeatedly cycled to clear rooms quickly which is the main strength of Hera. Trippy Shot also just sits there for 5 seconds while you twiddle your thumbs doing now damage. Trippy Shot works well with Stygian Soul but you don't want to run 2 less casts on Hera. With Trippy Shot, the aspect bonus does nothing. Okay here we go again, here's why Hera + Trippy Shot sucks. ![]()
